How it works

Edit at the same time
Changes show up for everyone as they're made, in documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs. Each person's cursor carries their name and color.
Comments and mentions
Comment on a sentence, a cell, or a slide. Mention a teammate with @, reply in the thread, and resolve it when it's done.
Version history
Go back to any earlier version and see each person's changes in their color. Name the versions that matter, and restore one if you need to.
Keeps working offline
If your connection drops, keep working. Changes are kept on your device and saved when you reconnect, and the top bar tells you which state you're in.
Viewers and commenters
Share as Viewer or Commenter when people should read or comment but not change the file. The server enforces the role, whatever app they use.

FAQ

Does undo take back other people's changes?

No. Undo only takes back your own changes, even when others are editing the same file.

What happens if two people type in the same place?

Both edits are kept. Chebu merges changes as they arrive, so nobody's work is overwritten.

How far back does version history go?

Version history keeps the edits since the document was created, grouped into versions by time. Name a version to find it again quickly.
