FAQ
Billing questions
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Every person gets a Personal workspace on Free: one @chebu.email mailbox with 5 GB of storage and 1,500 sends a month, at up to 20 sends a minute. It works in the web app and in any mail app over IMAP and SMTP. Business plans, for your own domain, are paid only.
How are sends counted?
Once per email, not per recipient. An email to one person and an email to 50 people each count as one send, and an email can have up to 50 recipients. Mail sent from mailboxes, over SMTP relay, and through the API all share the same monthly allowance.
What happens if I send more than my allowance?
Business plans keep sending, and extra sends are billed per 1,000: $0.70 (₦700) on Mini, $0.65 (₦650) on Business, $0.60 (₦600) on Enterprise. By default, sending stops at twice the monthly allowance so a runaway loop can't run up an unexpected bill. If a payment is overdue, sending is held to the allowance until it's settled. Free stops at its allowance.
What does pooled storage mean?
Storage is shared across every mailbox in the workspace, so a busy support@ can use more than a quiet hello@. Business plans can go past their storage for $0.50 (₦500) per extra GB a month. Free has a fixed 5 GB.
Can I add more domains or mailboxes?
Mini includes one custom domain and five mailboxes, with no extras. Move up to Business for more. Business includes three domains and 30 mailboxes, then $5 (₦5K) per extra domain and $1 (₦1K) per extra mailbox, each a month. Enterprise includes ten domains and unlimited mailboxes, then $5 (₦5K) per extra domain a month.
Which currencies can I pay in?
US dollars or Nigerian naira, by card. You pick the currency at checkout, and it stays fixed for that subscription.
Can I switch currency later?
Yes, at the end of a billing period. Cancel the current subscription so it ends with the period, then subscribe again in the other currency. Your workspace, mail, and settings stay as they are.
Do I pay per person?
No. Each plan is one flat monthly price with a set number of mailboxes. Sharing support@ with more teammates doesn't change the price.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Move up whenever you need more mailboxes, storage, domains, or sends. You can move down too, as long as the workspace fits within the smaller plan's limits.
